What can you expect when you stay at Cynefin
With only 10 pitches on 10 acres you will be assured of plenty of space and privacy. We don't believe in cramming tents in so that you trip over other people's guy ropes and hear the person in the next tent snoring!
We are passionate about the outdoors and have been lifelong campers so know what makes a good camping holiday. What you need is lots of space for the children to explore and have a bit of an adventure, comfy beds and a good cosy fire in the evenings. One of the best comments we heard last summer was 'fabulous...our children have gone feral!'
Our hazel and oak woodlands covers at least half of our site. A lovely woodland trail leads you through the woods so that you can investigate the wildlife. We have put up a range of wildlife and bird boxes as well as a hedgehog house and there is a specific area set aside to build a shelter or den. Also, in 2019, we won the Greener Camping Club bursary to fund a pop up wildlife hide for children to watch the hundreds of bats that fly in our woodlands at dusk every night.
Our own bell tents and our tipi are pitched in our wild flower meadows and each tent is a good distance away from the next one. Each tent has its own picnic table and fire bowl with grill and there is a huge Coleman Shelter which is fitted out with 2 camp kitchens for the bell tents to use. The tipi has its own kitchen shelter. Three eco friendly waterless toilets are available for all to use. All our camp pitches have their own firepit made from an old Landrover wheel! (they were so effective last year)
We are an off grid site so this means there is no WIFI or no electricity. You will have few distractions from the simple pleasures of the great outdoors. If this sounds like your kind of holiday please read on!
Keep an eye open for the new shepherd's hut which is under construction at the moment. More details later.
