Reviews what our campers and glampers think of us
This is one of the loveliest campsites we've been to. We stayed in the beautiful wildflower meadow with 2 children (8,12), who had fun in the woods and den building area. Really clean and well maintained site and close to lots of beautiful places to explore - Kidwelly Castle, Gower, and Pembrey Park. The kids loved bat spotting. The Robertson family
Sooo hot! but lots of nice shade amongst the trees. Three lovely nights, chilled out mornings with a bit of exploration mixed in. Mumbles was wonderful, especially liked Ty Cwrw on the waterside (Beer House). Visited Llandeilo - such a lovely town, the Gin Haus Deli was great for lunch followed by an epic ice cream and then a dip in the river. Super stay all round. James and Claire
One of the best campsites we've ever stayed at. Love the size, the 'wild' feeling in the main camp area, the space between pitches, the access to places and activities and the way you've thought through how to tread lightly. Thank you for what you have done here.

We were two large families with children aged from 4-9 and had a fantastic time. It was lovely having so much space to be near friends but plenty of our own space too. Kids particularly enjoyed the rope swings and den building area. Eisenteins and Gastons
Lovely days here in the hottest weather ever!!! Did a bit of a beach crawl - Oxwich, Caswell Bay and Rhossili. Loved driving around The Gower - beautiful, animals grazing in natural element but mind you don't knock one down in the road! All in all a good break away from busy city life. Make sure you get to have some Welsh ice cream and a dip in the sea. Wonderful hosting and a big thumbs up. Maire and Imran
Wonderful and windy!!
We stayed here with our three young children during one of this summers storms. But the wet and windy weather didn't spoil our fun! The kids loved playing in the den building/swing area and exploring the beautiful woods, they didn't stop smiling the whole trip. Camilla Prytherch
We stayed in the Wild Pitch. Amazing! we loved it. I especially enjoyed the 'wild shower'. A beautifully secluded pitch to enjoy of holiday, particularly for a large family group. Loved Llanstefan beach. Sasha, Bibi and Mae July 2021
Amazing facilities, showers, toilets and space to wash up. We all enjoyed finding some wildlife - toads, frogs, shrews, longhorn beetles, butterflies, crickets etc. Thanks for the stay Judith and Kay. Great hosts with deep knowledge of the area and environment. Joe, Jess, Lilia and Cassian
We should have been at WOMAD festival !! but we found Cynefin and we had a fantastic weekend in a very special place. Beautiful spot, so peaceful, lots of wildlife, friendly fellow campers and hosts. We'll be back! Hopefully festivals next year.

Beautiful and fun
We loved it - cooking on the fire pit every day, the kids (5 and 7) had so much fun in the woodland play area making friends. Wonderful beach nearby at the Pembrey Country Park, highly recommend that for a visit. A beautiful, peaceful, clean, and friendly place to stay. John Hudson
Such a beautiful campsite with wonderful hospitable hosts. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks very much.

We very much enjoyed our 3 nights in the Private Glade - so peaceful and tranquil! The campsite is wonderfully spacious and Judith and Kay have added some great touches. Super access to Sustrans Cycle Route 4 and the Millenium Coastal cycle path and some decent walks all within easy striking distance. We will be back to replenish our tired city (London) batteries again in the future. Paul and Jacinta
I wish I could come here every weekend. I liked how everything was arranged in the tipi. It's great the way the washing up works and sometimes, if you're really lucky, a mouse comes and picks up the food from the end of the water pipe. I loved every single thing - a very sweet Torran
The wildflower meadow is absolutely gorgeous and provided a welcome break from working from home in dreary Coventry! Cheers Finn and Sue
We've been campers for years and this is by far one of the best sites we've known. We love the wide margins around the field, so much room for wildlife and easy access to cycling routes. So glad we bought our bikes. Dan, Sarah, Joel, Ethan 14.08.21
We found Cynefin online and thought by the photos it looked like a magical heavenly and peaceful wild haven...... it did not disappoint! So lucky to have stumbled on it. We feel so lucky to have been able to come to such a perfect place after a very long hard year of Covid! Feeling recharged now. Thanks so much. Miryam, Mike and Elias
Such a fantastic find, beautiful and peaceful - just what we needed for a child free retreat! Perfect weather, sunsets, shooting stars and a full moon! Nat and Paul
My Grand daughter said she wanted to stay forever. I think this says all what we felt about the campsite.
Fourth visit! Lovely as always and a real pleasure to see the space change, the fruit trees mature and the young oaks on the meadow growing. We enjoyed the apples - stewed apples on our morning porridge. Jess
We have had the most relaxing, amazing time at this beautiful place. There is everything we needed here in the Tipi and I can't wait to come back with my children. Personal highlight was the showers. Gayle and Richie 19.07.2021
Eco camping heaven
What a find! This campsite is a hidden gem. A very special place with love and thought gone into every aspect. Beautifully set out with large pitches and also very friendly. The kids in the meadow field all clubbed together to play in the woods and do den building, they ran around in a safe but fun environment that prompted contact with nature and learning about wildlife. The night time bat walk was a memorable bonus that our daughter loved, provided by Judith and Kay. The moth trap, bat detectors and head torches made for so much excitement our 5 year old and 7 other children demanded another walk the next night (provided by some willing parents!!) Great compost loos, careful recycling, firepits provided and a relaxed approach made this all feel like eco camping at its best. Aug 26, 2019 by Claire Constable
What a fab 'back to nature' campsite. So lovely having space for children to play and the den area. Rain didn't stop us having a lovely time. PS lovely warm showers too. The Ansell family
Amazing Natural Beauty & Super eco-ness
Thank you so much Kay & Judith, I learned so much by talking to you, we loved the beautiful meadow plants and pollinators. The children loved exploring the woods. Thank you for all your cleaning & care at this difficult time. It was so wonderful to escape the inside of our house and be with our friends in the outdoors. I loved hearing and seeing the robins & hearing the nuthatches & love all the work you’ve done in making the habitats for animals.

We loved the wild field, especially when the horses in the next field came to visit. Thank you for encouraging good eco-habits for all! Real wild fun and spectacular sunsets. The outside shower was nice too. The Domjan family
Excellent eco-camping experience and very welcoming - definitely recommended.
We had a fantastic stay on the orchard pitch and were immediately made welcome upon arrival with a tour of the facilities by the owner. We were lucky enough to have the orchard to ourselves, giving us the feel of a secluded camping experience (all the while knowing that facilities are close by!) The campsite is in a great location, a short drive away from the Gower and with easy access to the coastal cycle route too. We would definitely recommend a bike trip to St Elli's Bay cafe for lunch. The campsite is lovely, surrounded by trees and wildflowers, and nothing is wasted as the water from the showers and sink runs off into the soak away to water the wildflowers and toilet waste is composted. The toilets and showers are kept impeccably clean. Overall, we had a great camping experience and would definitely recommend Cynefin campsite. Magdalena Payne

Peaceful, easy going, close to the best beach, Cefn Sidan.
We loved our stay at Cynefin. We felt peaceful and close to nature. The site has everything you need - compost loos, showers, hand washing, washing up point, fresh water supply, fire pits. Everything was clean and well maintained. Kay was on hand to greet us and make sure we were ok throughout the stay. The pitches are a generous size. It is very quiet at night. Burry Port is less than ten minutes away . It has the most beautiful sandy beach. The beach is huge so there's plenty of space for everyone. Also there is Pembrey Country Park a short drive away where you can hire bikes to cycle along the Millennium Trail. Cynefin is a tranquil little haven. It is an ideal break from the real world! We would definitely stay here again. Catherine Booth
Grandparents #makingmemories Fabulous outdoor weekend with family
Just returned from a long weekend at this fabulous site. Warm welcome and tour from the hosts, fab facilities which are very well maintained, peaceful and beautiful surroundings. My boys enjoyed playing cricket in the field with neighbours, making dens in the equipped den making area, exploring the safe woodland trails, playing on all the rope swings, spotting bugs, dragonflies and bats and listening for badgers as well as cooking on the campfire. Easy short drive to miles of golden sandy beaches, castles to explore, fish and chips, boat spotting in the harbour and loads more. Would VERY highly recommend for anyone with kids to spend some time at this beautiful place.

We've had an amazing time despite the weather. Lovely, quiet space with gorgeous woodlands surrounding us. Have loved using the campfire to roast marshmallows and to read beside in the evenings. Great swimming at Rhossili and lovely walk around Dylan Thomas village (Laugharne). One of the best UK campsites we've been to and we've been to lots! with very friendly owners and fab eco-credentials without compromising on comfort. Clampitt-Dix family
We had a wonderful time staying in the wild field for a week. Thank you for a week to remember. We had such fun in the wild- tree showers and open fire cooking for a whole week is sending us home happy and refreshed. Natasha and Edie
A real find
Loved this place from the minute we arrived and were warmly greeted by Kay. There were only two other tents and the owners own tipi in the field so lots of space / privacy. The fire pit was an added bonus. Shower with hot water, and a couple of compost toilets .... actually pretty sweet smelling! Quiet, and location was good. We did take a drive out to spend the day at Rossili Bay, well worth a visit, and breakfast at Hillend campsite where we parked for the great price of £4 all day and lunch at Kings Head are both well worth a visit! Cynefin is lovely and a great place to get away from it all, quiet and you have your own space. Thanks Kay, we hope to be back. Ali Williams
What a fantastic stay at Cynefin. A wonderful welcome with everything we needed for a tranquil and relaxing break. Our first experience of compost toilets didn't disappoint and were pretty straight forward. Beaut showers! Loved it. Fire pit lit every night. Sam
We were made to feel so welcome and it was a good base from which to explore the nearby woodlands and beaches. The children explored the woodland on site and the den building area, picking wild blackberries and making their own jam. Hours of fun around the campfire. So much space. A brilliant 4 days. Katalind and family
Thanks so much for such a lovely welcome to your campsite. The boys really enjoyed themselves and didn't want to go home. The only thing we thought of for feedback was to have logs to sit around the camp fire. But our stay has been fantastic.
PS I still believe I saw a zebra (but it's a horse with a black and white sunscreen blanket on - the management checked)

Such a lovely stay, owners are so friendly and it's absolutely amazing what has been done with the land, they should be so proud. Derelict farm land to rewilded nature reserve! We loved the eco-friendly aspect and all the little touches like the washing up area and 'no nasties' shower gel and hand wash. Moses and friends
We are pretty seasoned campers and Cynefin is easily one of our favourite sites. Beautiful, spacious pitches and clean facilities. Kay and Judith are warm, welcoming yet unobtrusive hosts. They were diligent and conscientious about Coronavirus restrictions, enabling us to relax and feel safe. Definitely bring bikes or hire some - the local cycle paths are so good you could be in Holland!

Fantastic stay in the Wolf Tipi. We really enjoyed the lovely sheltered spot and amazingly well-equipped kitchen - Kay and Judith have thought of everything you could possibly need! The site is obviously a labour of love and we would love to come back to see how it evolves.
Beautiful little campsite, lovely peaceful location. Great facilities. For those looking for something not so peaceful/a bit DIFFERENT then hit the Portobello for their kareoke night.... Ellie, Mich and James
Such a gorgeous stay - we loved it. Eco campsite with land that has been so lovingly restored. Nic, George, Elian and Luca
We stayed in the Wolf Tipi - very comfortable and very well equipped. We loved, in particular, the separate and very handy kitchen area. Fire pit worked a treat too. Our children loved having the freedom to explore the woods and spent a lot of time in the den making area. Tip - pre-book activities like bike hire, ski hire etc at Pembrey during busy periods.
The Halls
What a lovely setup here. We have never stayed in a campsite with as much space and quiet. The kids loved collecting sticks for the fire so much we had to limit them before they collected the whole woods.
The Egginton's
What an oasis of silence, nature and beauty. We had such a fab time, listening to the birds, watching the stars, enjoying the heat and smells of the fire. Great fun. The Russell-Jones family
