Our site is over 10 acres and we can assure you  that you will have plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your camping. 

We have about 10  pitches, depending how many circles we cut in the meadow grass.   Not all pitches will be available at the same time,  so that pitches can be used in rotation to preserve the flowers and grass.  In 2023 not all pitches will be available to book so that campers have more space and facilities are not put under pressure.    We aim to only book about 9 pitches, including our tipi and bell tents, in 2023. 

 

Book one of our  Pitches - Grass  Camp Pitch 1,2,3 or 4, plus the Orchard Pitch (5) or the Private Glade (6) in the early summer where  you will have masses of space to put up your tent and enjoy a peaceful back to nature experience.   If you are a large family group or group of friends  who wish to camp together let us know and we will make sure you are camped near each other.  Bring all your equipment, pitch up your tent and begin to enjoy your holiday.

Or if you want to go really wild  then camp down in our bottom meadow in our Wild Camping Pitch (8). Last summer we decided to open up our previously unused bottom meadow and offered one wild pitch for the hardy camper who wishes a very back to nature experience in a wild field away from the main campsite.  It proved very successful and all campers loved it, particularly hearing the animals and owls at night roaming around their tent and the bird song in the morning.  Also people felt that they could be very socially distanced from everyone if they wished.   We will mow a few  pitches and pathways in the long grass for you to choose from. We will provide you with a very basic toilet in a pop up toilet tent plus a shower which is rigged up in an oak tree.  Heat the water up on your campfire in your firepit if the sun doesn't warm the bag.  There is no running water in the bottom meadow but we can carry tanks of water down there on our quadbike.  This is for the hardy camper so please don't book if this all sounds too much for you.  It is a 500 metre walk from the main carpark but wheelbarrows are available.

Each pitch is priced at  £25 a night in the early season and £30 during the school holidays.  An additional child is charged at £5 a night.   If you need to bring more than 5 people on your holiday you will need to book more than one of our pitches.  Bookings for at least 2 days please.  If you are unsure please phone and we can discuss it.

All our grass  pitches have a fire bowl for a campfire and access to an LPG shower and 3 waterless toilets nearby. We have plenty of firewood on site -  a small  charge of £5 will be made for trugs.

New for 2022 was our Grass Pitch for Cyclists  (7) after we have had many enquiries from cyclists using the Sustrans Route 4 and are looking for a place to pitch a small tent for one night on their long distance cycle ride.  The cost for this pitch is £10 a night per person.  No cars allowed.  No firepit expected.  One night bookings can be made.

As we are an environment friendly campsite campers are encouraged to recycle as much of their rubbish as possible using the bins provided and only use the biodegradable cleaning products, soap and shampoos which we will provide.  As part of our green policy we are asking that all campers only bring one car/vehicle per pitch.  We have limited hard standing for parking.

Each pitch is suitable for a good sized family tent with gazebo/kitchen tent if necessary.  If you need to bring a pup tent it will need to be pitched close to your family tent.  Our pitches are about 8m so all tents need to be packed into this space.   If you have 2 pitches for family and friends each individual family tent needs to be 6m apart for safety reasons.  Only one vehicle per pitch please as our car park is really small.  Trailers are not really encouraged but if you have to bring one they will be charged at £5 a night as they do take up one of our car park places.

Please arrive only after 4pm which gives us plenty of time to manage the site and cut the grass.

£12 for an annual  family membership of the Greener Camping Club - as we are a private site (non refundable)

​

£5 a night to bring a trailer on site  (due to limited parking space)

​

£5 a night for a 3rd child/ extra adult on a camp pitch
