1.The Greener Camping Club
Because of our location in the open countryside we are only able to operate as a camping site by being a Greener Camping Club members only ‘Certificated Campsite'. We have an obligation to the issuing authority to ensure that all guests are members of The Greener Camping Club. Membership costs £10 and this amount will be added to your camping fees at the time of booking. Membership runs from 1st January to 31st December each year. We will issue your membership before you arrive for your holiday. To find out more about the club, please visit The Greener Camping Club website.
We request a 50% deposit when booking a camping pitch or tent. Reservations are held for up to seven days provisionally, after which if we have not received your deposit the dates will be released again. The balance is requested 6 weeks prior to your arrival date. For short lead-time bookings – i.e. those booked less than 6 weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.
3. Arrival & Departure Times
On arrival day, the camping pitches and tents are available from 4pm. On departure day, please vacate all camping pitches by 11am. Changeover day is a very busy time with tidying up the pitches, mowing grass and cleaning and preparing the tents for the next holiday makers. Please help us by sticking to the arrival and departure times.
4. Cancellation by You
If you need to cancel your camping holiday 6 weeks or more before your arrival date, we will refund your deposit less a 20% administration fee. If you need to cancel your camping holiday less than 6 weeks before your arrival date no refund will be made. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancelling, please take out holiday insurance. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable. If you book through the Cool Camping website the commission paid to CC is also not refundable.
5. Cancellation by Us
We reserve the right to cancel a holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe tent accommodation or camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Cynefin Eco Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.
There are many opportunities for play and adventure on our site. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. But there are contingent risks to be aware of. We allow campfires in our fire pits, there are shallow ditches bounding our land which can be full of water after rain, there is a small wildlife pond and some of our woodland is natural and un-managed. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask. Cynefin Eco Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.
The speed limit while on our site is 5 mph. Because of the fragile nature of our wildflower meadows no cars are allowed on the grass areas. Cars need to be parked in the allocated parking bays by the barn at the bottom of the tarmac roadway. A wheelbarrow will be available at all times to move your equipment to your tent or you could get a lift on our trailer for large loads. This is the easiest way to ensure the meadows do not get churned up after any prolonged amounts of rain. Help will be provided by us if required. We do not accept caravans or campervans as we do not have any hardstanding pitches or have facilities for disposal of chemical toilets.
8. Recycling & Rubbish
A condition of camping here is that you separate glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. placing them in the special bins provided. What is left, i.e. anything that is not recyclable can be placed in the landfill bin. You are out in the country and wildlife enjoy a free meal so please don’t leave rubbish or food out overnight or your tents open when you are not around. We have some very active badgers, foxes and small mammals on site.
9. Campfires & Firewood
Please only use the designated campfire pits or fire bowls provided and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy.
10. Consideration for Others
This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. Please respect other campers by not making excessive noise after 10.30 p.m. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund.
Dogs must be well behaved and kept on a lead/long rope at all times. We are bordered by grazing fields of cows, sheep and horses. All dog poo must be bagged and disposed off properly please. Dogs are not allowed in our glamping tents or on the wild camp pitch due to the proximity to the herd of cows (often with a young bull).
All our tents are strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the firepit or in the ash bin.
13. Property Loss
Cynefin Eco Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. Take sensible precautions by not leaving expensive equipment in your tents.
14. Gas for the Camp Kitchen
Gas for the camp kitchen cooker is included in the price of the booking. Please use the gas cooker in accordance with our instructions and never leave anything aflame if you are not in attendance.
15. Breakages & Damages
If upon arrival you find any items or fittings, utensils, crockery or cutlery are broken, damaged or missing, please report it to us and it will be replaced as soon as possible.Should any significant damage or breakage occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for replacement may be made. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where a tent has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structure, movement of furniture and contents etc. Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage, or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.
